Tellurium is a very rare element on Earth, and is one of the metalloids, elements with properties in between those of metals and nonmetals. It appears as one of two allotropes, either a silvery crystalline form or a brown-black powder. Its name is derived from the Latin term for 'earth', hence this Elemental Cat's continental patternings. But there's a bit of a vampiric touch to this cat too - tellurium was first discovered in Transylvania, and is known for giving you garlic scented breath if you handle it. Watch your neck! In modern times, tellurium's main use is in alloys of steel, copper and iron, as well as in solar panels.
